This homemade version of the classic egg mcmuffin are a tasty, much lower fat way to satisfy your cravings or even please a crowd. Of course, hosting breakfast for the masses can be difficult when you’re sticking to a hardcore fitness and nutrition regime, but this way you can please everyone with a well known favorite, impress with your kitchen skills and still keep it low on calories!


  • 12 eggs
  • 12 English muffins
  • ½ lb thickly cut ham
  • ½ pound cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lightly spray a muffin tray with low fat cooking oil
  3. Break one whole egg into each individual muffin opening
  4. Place in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes
  5. Remove from the oven and assemble your egg mcmuffins by placing one baked egg, one slice of ham and one slice of cheese onto an English muffin.


Lunch / Dinner: Pepperoni Pizza

Let’s be honest, everyone loves pizza. It is a favorite for most and for me personally, the thing I crave most. Problem is, only one single slice of Domino’s will cost you 300 calories and let’s be honest, who has the willpower to only have one slice? That’s why this low calorie alternative that packs in protein, calcium and vitamin D from the addition of greek yogurt, is an excellent choice.



  • 2 & ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 & ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt


  • 1 cup organic tomato sauce
  • ½ cup part skimmed mozzarella
  • ½ cup pepperoni


  1. In a small bowl, mix the yeast, sugar and warm water. Leave it to rise for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, honey and yogurt. Stir together with a wooden spoon and then knead with your hands until a smooth ball forms, about 2-4 minutes. Place in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel for about 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F. Once dough has rested, roll out to ¼-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut dough into 6-inch round circles. Gather remaining dough and roll out again to cut out additional circles. You should have 6 rounds.
  4. Place dough rounds on lightly greased baking sheets and top each one with a tablespoon of pizza sauce, a sprinkle of cheese, pepperoni and more cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is crisp around the edges and cheese is bubbly and browned on top.
  5. Serve as an individual pizza or cut into 4 slices each and serve to a crowd.

To me, that means having an amazing attitude, despite our circumstances and truly understanding that yesterday’s events have no real impact on what may happen today.

We all have that friend that has a contagious attitude no matter if we’re stuck in hours of traffic and there’s something special about harnessing that energy.



Wake Up 30 Minutes Earlier

Waking up earlier is my #1 productivity and fulfillment tip for those who are looking to make incremental, yet impactful steps in their life.

It doesn’t matter what you do during this time, as long as it’s important to one person: you.

You may take time to read, write, or simply sit on your couch and contemplate life for a few minutes – as long as you’re intentional, it’s all that matters.

Taking anywhere from 3-20 minutes to establish a breathing practice, or yes, meditation will set the tone for the rest of your day to react less out of emotion and having the ability to choose how you see negative events.

Breathing has immense physiological and mental benefits, and there’s no way to do this wrong.

Complete One High Level Task

Completing one action first thing in the morning is one of the most powerful tools to harness momentum.

For example, writing, editing and shipping this blog post is the task I’m using to create momentum today.

The key word here is: completion.

Don’t Check Email or Snapchat!

Whatever you do, do not check email in the morning and better yet, keep your phone on airplane mode.

This is likely one of the most essential tools of the day, especially in the morning.

The further you can push this, the more clarity you will have.

Set a minimum time to check email, for me it’s 9:00AM at the earliest when I’m up at 5:00, yet many days it can be 11:00 or 12:00PM by the time I get around to it.

Using this as a consistent habit shifts you into a mindset into abundance.

Some of the tips above are somewhat serious; yet embracing humor is essential to not taking yourself too seriously.

Finding the comedic angle in situations, surrounding yourself with others who make you laugh and having a light heartedness about life is crucial to feeling amazing.

Fight Negativity With Love

We can’t control what people say about us and at some point, conflicts will arise.

It may be your roommate, a co-worker, someone gossiping or a fight about politics online (note: don’t engage, please).

When you feel triggered, rise above and fight negativity with love and kindness, you will feel amazing for being in control of your emotions and the other person will soon regret anything that was said, even if they don’t admit it.


Walking in nature is one of the best ways to connect with the Earth and you in a deep way — walking barefoot in grass for a few minutes have been proven to increase fulfillment and happiness.

We’ve all had those meals that seemed amazing at the time, yet we knew were full of processed food, sugar and a host of other things we don’t want to know about.

And then it hit us: energy slump, digestive issues and negative feelings.

Journal Your Emotions

At the end of the day, use a journal to get everything you’re thinking and feeling out of your head onto paper.

This will help you unload the weight off your shoulders and see that most of what you’re feeling isn’t really too important.

By making it real and putting it to paper, you can question each one and reflect on if it’s worth keeping it in your headspace or not.

Create A Shut It Down Time

At around 9PM, I go on Airplane mode on my phone and stop watching TV…it’s not easy, but this will increase the quality of your sleep in a major way.

Training your body to have a time to start the process of recovery and rejuvenation is crucial, which is our next one.

Establish An Evening Ritual

While morning rituals get all the love, an evening ritual is just as important to wind down and let the day go.

Some favorites include a warm bath with candles, getting a self-massage or foam roller, stretching, dimming the lights and reading and a combination of all of these.

Our minds and bodies are extremely habitual and routine based and this will signal to your body…

The App that Has Me Looking Forward to My Workouts

Let me set the scene for you: it was Monday night, I was at the gym and I was feeling a bit bored with my regular routine. I contemplated giving up entirely and heading home for the night but instead, I flipped open the app store on my phone to see if I could get inspired with any workout apps. I checked out a couple before stumbling across the Nike Training Club app.

The Nike Training Club app is the workout partner I always wished I had. Consider it your personal trainer of sorts.

The app features many fantastic workouts in a wide range of styles, which means that I can always find something that matches up to my mood and my preferred workout method. The workouts are also categorized by fitness level, which is awesome because I can choose a less intense workout when I’m feeling a bit sapped of energy and a higher intensity workout when I feel like a Workout Goddess.

The app is also super simple to use.

Once you’ve downloaded it and found the workout you want to do, you simply load it up, choose your music preference and get ready to get sweaty. The app times each of the moves in the workout so you know what to expect and features a helpful video so you have guidance throughout your entire set. You can follow along to the workout in real-time and you can also take a quick look to see which moves are coming up. There is also a helpful guide around the type of equipment that you’ll need for the workouts so you can be sure you’re prepared before you start.


The built-in community is motivating.

There’s also a really helpful Instagram-style news feed that is completely sports-related. You can get inspired by other training club participants and post your own photos to inspire others. One of the things that is extremely motivating, when it comes to keeping up with regular workouts, is community. Knowing that I can share my goals, my progress pics and other fitness-inspired items, encourages me to want to hit the gym up more often and capture more of those moments.


It goes where I go.

The best part about the Nike Training Club app is that it’s mobile. I can literally toss my phone, and a pair of headphones, into my gym bag and have really fun workouts wherever I go. As someone who likes to mix it up and keep my workouts from getting boring, this has become my go-to app for workout ideas and inspiration.

My Boyfriend’s Backpack is Better Than Yours

Dear LIVE WELL 360,

The BACKPACK - LIVE WELL 360I wanted to send this little love note in as I thought you might really enjoy the conversation that I had with my boyfriend tonight.

As we headed home from the gym, we chatted about how awesome it is to have gym bags and gear that work really well for our busy lifestyles. My boyfriend has the LUXX, as well as the BACKPACK, and he really seems to enjoy both for their versatility and design.

So, I grilled him about his BACKPACK to understand more about his obsession so that I could relay that information to you! We jokingly called our conversation “reasons that my boyfriend’s backpack is better than yours” because… it is!

1. It’s Well-Engineered

It’s worth mentioning that my boyfriend geeks out big time on well-made products (he’s an engineer!) So, it was no surprise when he said that he loved the BACKPACK because it was really well crafted. He loves when a company thinks about their customer and creates a product that really works. For him, he loved the well-made, heavy duty straps and the material of the bag. It’s solid.

2. Big Enough Without Being Complicated

He loves that the BACKPACK is big enough to hold all of his gear without complicating the bag with endless pockets and compartments. He also loves that the bag is big enough to have a dirty laundry bag. He uses this feature daily as he really hates unpacking and repacking his bag every day. He’d prefer to pack the bag for a week and empty it out when needed.

3. It’s a Lifestyle Bag

Even though he doesn’t love a complicated bag, he appreciates when a company adds the right amount of pockets to a bag to make it useful. With the compartments in the BACKPACK, he has enough space to throw his laptop, cellphone, keys and more in the bag without losing track of his stuff.


4. The Structure & The Color

While other bags will be able to match the color, few will be able to match the structure of the BACKPACK. Tip 1 – Shoulder Strap

The shoulder strap is reversible… so make sure that whether you are right-handed or left-handed (like me), you wear it so that the adjustor is down low and not on the top of your shoulder.

Make sure to attach the strap in the way that is the most comfortable for you, especially when packed full of your workout gear!



Tip 2 – Water Bottle

The second thing we want to show you about the Core is that we designed it without a water bottle pocket on purpose. That may come as a surprise to some people, but we felt that there is a better solution for this style bag than a bulky pocket that:

  1. may or may not fit the size water bottle that you use, and
  2. would take away from the streamlined look of the bag

Instead of a pocket, clip your SIGG or Nalgene water bottle to the hardware on the bag for easy access. What you do is just slightly release the clip, and attach the loop on a SIGG water bottle to the clasp. Or, if you use a Nalgene, you unscrew the top, wrap it around the strap and then screw the cap on.

If you do not have either of these types of reusable water bottles, there is plenty of room inside the bag or shoe compartment to fit any size bottle.

Through research, innovation, and design details, the Live Well 360 Core is different from any other fitness bag that you’ve ever owned. Lets take a closer look at the shoulder strap and hardware

Most fitness bags (aka gym bags, duffel bags, sport bags) have a strap made from a narrow, stiff nylon with hard plastic, molded clips and adjustors. Here are a few things that we have noticed through our own experience, as well as, through input from other fitness enthusiasts, with this type of strap and hardware.

  • The rough, rigid nylon is uncomfortable and digs into your skin almost immediately upon putting the strap of a fully packed bag over your shoulder.
  • The plastic hardware clips are stiff, tedious to work with, and don’t allow the bag to move with your body. At times the bag has a tendency to tug and swing back and forth as you move.
  • The plastic slide adjustor is difficult to move up and down on the rough nylon strap, especially while wearing the bag.

Now let’s take a closer look at the Core

  • The Core has a 2-inch wide strap made from soft, seatbelt webbing, designed for maximum comfort, not to mention style. This ensures that the weight of the bag is evenly distributed across your shoulder (and chest if wearing it across your body).
  • The hardware on the Core is a high quality satin nickel. No plastic here.
  • Since the material on the strap is soft and the slide adjustor is satin nickel, this allows for easy adjustment to fit the strap length to your body while wearing the bag. Yet once the adjustor is set to where you want it, it won’t slip or lose its grip.
  • The satin nickel clips that attach the strap to the bag have a unique swivel head, allowing the bag to rotate depending on how you choose to wear it on your body. The Core will remain snug to your back (or side) and secure.

The Best Gym Enabler, Ever (It’s Not What You Think!)

I’ve gone through a lot of gym partners in my day. You know the type… the friend who eagerly signs up for a gym membership with you, only to stop going a few weeks in. Or, the downloadable app that promises to encourage workouts and motivate you, but that you quickly forget even exists.

It wasn’t until this week that I noticed that I had been at the gym nearly every day for a record-breaking two weeks straight and I wasn’t even feeling pressured to go — it had just become a part of my day-to-day routine and I, *gasp*, loved it!

twenty20_dd1aa352-a4c5-4eac-a72b-328b23bad1e9Recognizing this new routine, I began to wonder what was enabling me to get to the gym as often as I was and it dawned on me… it was my gym bag! I know that sounds a bit silly, so let me explain how my gym bag has quickly become the best enabler, ever.

It Carries Everything I Need

In the past, I often had to build in buffer time for the gym. I couldn’t head straight from work to the gym, unless I brought two bags, and even then, I’d always forget something important.

When I sat at my desk thinking about the way the post-work shuffle would look, I’d often talk myself out of going to the gym because it felt too rushed — like I wouldn’t have enough time. Or, if I had to run home to get something I’d forgotten, I’d often end up on my couch watching Netflix, with zero motivation to actually head to the gym. With all of those hurdles, I’d often give up and head home.

With my Luxx bag, I can put everything I need in it for work and the gym, which means I am more apt to go (remember that streak I talked about!) and less apt to forget something.

It Compliments My Lifestyle

Aside from the post-work workout, I was also making excuses for other days of the week, too. For example, if I knew that I was meeting up with friends later in the evening, I wouldn’t sneak in a workout beforehand as lugging all my stuff in multiple bags and dealing with post-workout sweaty clothes felt like a nightmare. Now, I don’t worry about any of that as the Luxx takes care of everything for me.
